Young Creatives Writing Competition 2021 (Global) by The Inked Perceptions The Inked Perceptions is an India based global forum of writers who aim to spread hope, positivity and love among people using the creative tools of expression.  Young Creatives is a writing program where creative people meet and collaborate to spark change with their extraordinary talent and alive passion. We are inviting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures to join our forum, together as one. People who are a keynote speaker, author, philosopher, traveller, artist, musician, poet, activist, entrepreneur, NGO head are encouraged to join and get featured in the list of 'Young Creatives 2021'. As a part of the program, you need to write an original essay on the creative theme of your choice: Philosophical, Spiritual, Political or others with words between 1000-1500 and submit that in the application form with your details as asked in the form.

Elixir | The Inked Perceptions

He stared at her pale face,
the flutter of her eyes, 
the rueful smile on her lips, 
the gentle rise and fall of her chest.

And then, his eyes fell on the scar that marred her face,
stretching from right under her lashes and ending right above the mole on her upper lip. 

He gazed at her wistfully, 
not understanding why she couldn't accept his love.
He longed for her gentle touch, 
her slender fingers slipping 
through his hair.

She never understood him,

Never understood why he knew 
he would love her forever when she first spilled her wine on his shirt, staining his heart along with his shirt.
Never understood why he found
her brown eyes more calming
than the brewing brown coffee; 
or, why her presence was the only elixir he ever needed.

And so she sat there, shackled to his bedpost.

As a budding poet, I am keen on details. There are far too many people already looking at the world through a rose coloured glass- choosing sides, turning a blind eye to things they don't want to believe in; so there should be more people who look at the world as a grey area.
