Philosophy of a Fellow Farmer's Son | The Inked Perceptions

Joseph Miller was the son of an English farmer . It was at that time when colonization happened due to the arrival of the foreign invaders invaded the different nations believing and enchanted-
“We are the Superior One , The Terror One , The Dreaded One.”

Thus bringing innumerable tortures , oppressions and sucking up the blood of the downtrodden people, fellow countrymen and the Moor or the Blackmen or the tribes such as Pygmies, Bantu , Red Indian, Maories and many other indigenous people. He was greatly mesmerized by the Pan flute, and many other indigenous tribal instruments . The severe oppression made by the white skinned people to the fellow country made a great feeling of pain to him, firmly believed that –
“ Why the fellow downtrodden people are sucked up by the ‘White Blood’. Why the foreign invaders wanted to advertise their territorial power, thinking them to be Superior believed that we are well - developed , educated and suppressed those who were struggling to express themselves ( Downtrodden, tribal ones) looted the underdeveloped nations”.
Man became his God himself loosing all mortality , benevolence.

Thus a “ Reign of Terror” began.

When Joseph was ten years old , he engaged himself in his father’s field and accompanied his father. Joseph’s father Samuel Miller was a man full of honesty, benevolence and man full of compassion. Besides being a farmer , he was also a man enriched with philosophical thoughts. Aristotle, Kant , Marx, Swami Vivekananda’s philosophical thoughts greatly motivated him, even more he believed in “unity in diversity” of Carl Ritter( promoting harmony and peace among the living organisms of the ecosystem). He wanted to inculcate the equity or socialist and philosophical thoughts to his son also. One day when the new Sun make it’s first appearance with a advent of a new day, Joseph found to be feeding the fodder to the cattle of the farmhouse. Father said:

“My dear child , “ I don’t need your help. I’m feeling glad that you wanted to help me, but I don’t need your help. I’m satisfied of working in my own hand.

When Joseph was ten years, he was greatly motivated by the ideas of philosophers , patriots of different countries. Sometimes he also made criticisms and debates on the fact with his father:

“Why Father English and other foreign invaders tried to dominate those fellow underdeveloped nations by their expansive territorial power?
Why they can’t live life on their own way living like a prisoner in the prison. Why they have to stuck under the Englishman’s feet?”

Father said with a soft smile :
“ I think that it might be a curse of being born as an Englishmen . I felt guilty sometimes to have a white blood and want to accommodate with those fellow dark complexioned Negro Afrikaans learning their language , culture , literature , ethics and traditions.” I believed , “I’m not a superior English”.

Joseph said with valour :
“I want to memorising those incidents like Cuban War of Independence, Indigo Rebellion , Santhal Rebellion and Birsa Munda’s valour and courage which gives a keen understanding to the fellow nations’ people how to raise their demands because God has given a unique Independence to each living beings.”

Vol-2 :

For gaining the more knowledge about the Philosophical and Universal Thoughts, he admitted to a Catholic school named St.Paul’s Convent School where Father Samuel taught philosophy and religious text books to inculcate a strong sense of Humanism among the students. Father believed not only books are enough to develop a man but also other activities such as singing Sacred music, playing , gardening , painting etc also vital to make an ideal man in future. One day Father Samuel told the fellow farmer’s son :

“Love living beings as Jesus loves us. Don’t give any kind of pain to others. Fall out the jealousy , brutuality , materialism and arrogance to make a good man. Otherwise a black spot or scandal disturbed your peace and personality all time. I believed in Love that God gifted, to make it’s good use, we are created this Universe. There is nothing mine in this world. Everything are illusive, having physical existence and happiness at a certain point of time. We all left these when our soul will be at rest.”

Gospel of Jesus modified in practicality in such a lucid form by him that the students want to unfold the secrets of Bible through practicality.

The “tyrannical Devil” description was also descripted by the students to the Father of the Church i.e. connecting their mind with the Universe and a spontaneous supernatural vibration came out for which they comparing the philosophy and Gospel with the practicality.

Vol-3 :

At 26 years, Joseph’s philosophical thoughts were converted into practicality when he travelled to the underdeveloped, uncivilized nations.

One incident was memorable when he went to Africa the “Treasure land for the Portuguese and many other foreign invaders” to meet those fellow tribes like Negros, Bantus their culture, tradition, ethics, language. The Negros were furious, agitated thinking him to one of an invader. Then an old Negro keenly examine and acknowledged :
“Doesn’t look like a bad one. He is like a God and a kind Englishman”.

Then the Grandpa Negro made a noise of depreciation :

“ The white skinned terrorist ruler didn’t give the remuneration according to the hard labour we had done. We were forced to work in the field in the scorching heat of sunlight, physically assaulted our wives and daughters, burdened with unbearable and unaffordable tax , executed us from our settlements by burning our forests for establishing industries.”

Joseph guilty said :
“Don’t called me God , I am just an individual, a Man. I’m not an English as we are not judged by our nationality but the Universal Truth that “We are Man”. Call me Negro, I’m happy . Call me fellow, dirty and uncivilized man.”

Negro Hugianda taught him African tribal culture and primitive language.

Vol – 4 :

The next destination of his journey was India or the Bharat. He learned in the books that it is a “Land of Inquisitive heritage and culture , borne with the great scholars, philosophers and mathematicians , Land of Ayurveda, Swami Vivekananda , Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar , Ramanujan, Aryabhatta and Brahmagupta and Chanakya’s political thoughts. Land Of Ancient Vedas , the land which was the “The Spiritual Guru of the Whole World” at a time.” . Joseph was mesmerized by the philosophical thoughts of Swami Vivekananda who said that:

“At a certain time , India was the “Storehouse or Master Of Spiritualism, Mystical Thoughts, Vedic Scriptures.”

For a philosophic researcher , nothing will be quite better than India. He read the books of Chanakya, Brahmagupta, Kalidasa, Vidyasagar and many other great persons. He also read the English version of the Holy books of Hindus namely “ Valmiki Ramayana.”, “Vyasa Mahabharata” and comparing those with the practical world. Not only Hindus but the Muslim Brothers also get equal importance to his philosophical vision. According to his belief :
“O Hindus, Christian Brothers you are important to the eyes of me. But the Muslim Brothers, Sikh Brothers and Jewish Brothers , the fellow downtrodden people will be also equally important to me.”

At that time, India was the core centre of trade and commerce for the different foreign invaders like Portuguese, British , French , Dutch and Danes etc. At that time the protest against the British done in two ways, where the literate society protested in an indirect way by their writings. Joseph also protested against the invaders by writing a number of books “My Philosophy” , “The Superior and Inferior Soul”, “The Scandled People And Scandled Nations”, “World Mirror”, “Our Future” etc.

He also visited numerous Mosques praying the Allah’s Sacred Name and prayed for everyone’s well-beings. On the other hand, he travelled to the Punjab’s Amritsar Golden Temple and many other Guruduwaras joined in the Holy prayer of Nanak and Guru Govind Singh Khalsa feeding in the Langarkhana and also served the God’s meal to the fellow spiritualists ( people). He also protested and made criticisms against the foreign invaders when the British wanted to feed the cow and pig fat to the fellow countrymen, thus converting them from Hinduism to Baptism or Christianity. He said:

“No one could change your religion or Dharma until you wished it to be changed. We are standby in the God’s Supreme Court where every religion are equal in the Eyes of God. Remember it.”

He sometimes wore Bengali Dhotis and Punjabis , Santhali tribal dresses , dresses according to Muslim tradition and Punjabi style dress with Pagris. He believed “All are my brothers.”

Vol- 5 :
Not only his philosophical thoughts were bound within the purview of religion and history but also he able to compare those thoughts with the applied science. He believed that it was due to our negligence and disrespect to our Mother Nature to whom we are carved and placed in her lap with so care i.e. :

“We cut and chopped the trees to cope with the developed nations and for gaining more and more monetary benefits by establishing industries, factories and organising the different business organizations. We daily killed the Green and millions of millions Green will be killed by us continuously. Thus, it hampers the whole ecological balance resulted to invite different pollutions in near future.”
Thus he encrypted that :
“ Love the Environment and other living beings then it will be beneficial for you as God blessed you. Live like a King in the Heaven.

Vol-6 :
The “Chakra Theory” was also greatly elaborated by him. He believed in Chakra’s importance or Kundalini Shakti which not only helps humans to maintain a positive energy and vibration in their body but also connecting them with the Supreme God through a vibration or wave . He said:

“ For balancing the Chakra’s energy or inertia is very important for the mankind to live a charismatic life full of positive energy .”
Each Chakra is signified by a special colour or vibration like Muladhara or Root Chakra is signified by red colour, Svadisthana or Sacral Chakra is signified by orange colour, Solar plexus is by red , Heart Chakra is by green, Throat Chakra by blue, Third Eye Chakra by ocean blue and the Supreme one is Crown Chakra Represented by purple colour.

He stated that:

“Chakra balance is very important not for our sub conscious well being of our mind but also for our inner peace and well-being of our body. I was also practiced.”

From this ideology , he wrote a book named “ Eternal Soul and Sub - subconscious mind”.

He believed in Metaphysics or Cosmic Connection, hence justifying and said :

“There is some cosmic force or God’s Power which gives us an enigma to do something everyday and every incident’s like bad luck or good luck is connected with our Karma.”

Vol - 7:

In his viewpoint Ideal Nation will be likewise :“Nation free of war , terrorism , discrimination , kindness and love to environment and other living creatures will make a Nation Like God’s Heaven where every people will be equal and then the nation will be ‘Nation of Peace’.”

Thus it may be said, that a fellow boy who was a child of a farmer now becomes the “Ambassador of Peace” , spreading the Message of peace , Equality to the whole world by linking Philosophical thoughts with practicality.

Brief Character Sketches of :

Joseph Miller (Main character of this story):

Here, Joseph Miller is a symbolical representation of the Messenger of God , bringing Message of Peace and Harmony to mankind promoting to remove jealousy , racial discrimination , inhumanity to environment and living creatures etc. Not only that but also one’s culture, ethinicity and dharma was also prior to him. The cosmic connection indicates the Sub conscious level and spiritualistic inclination of mankind which uplifts his soul and purifies it which is also mentioned and believed by him. He is a son of a fellow English farmer.

Father Samuel ( Teacher / Spiritual Pathfinder of Joseph Miller):

Here from the depiction or representation of Father Samuel , the Ideal Teacher’s Teaching was depicted out. Thus he co- relates that teaching means not only to abide by the discipline and decorum of the institution but also get acquainted the students with the aesthetic source of beautiful creations i.e. the Nature like singing Sacred music , playing, painting and gardening etc. This is the “ Philosophy of Education.” It is the Teacher who bestows the light of spiritual knowledge and Sanskars(ethics) to his students like what Father Samuel gave his philosophical thoughts and ideas to his students. He is the friar and teacher of St Paul Catholic School.

Father of Joseph Miller ( Primary teacher of Joseph Miller)

Joseph ‘s father also played an important role for instilling the philosophical thoughts to Joseph. Later he became the Master of Philosophical Thoughts for this reason He was a man full of compassion, honesty and benevolence. Besides being a farmer the thoughts of different philosophers like Kant, Aristotle, Marx, and Swami Vivekananda greatly motivated him . Besides he was also a believer of “Unity in Diversity” of Carl Ritter. He had not any least arrogance by humiliating himself and comparing himself to the tribal Black people or African Negros. For this reason he said :
--------
“I think that it might be a curse for being born as an Englishmen . I felt guilty sometimes to have a white blood and want to accomodate with those fellow dark complexioned Negro Africans learning their literature , language , culture , ethics and traditions.”
