Young Creatives Writing Competition 2021 (Global) by The Inked Perceptions The Inked Perceptions is an India based global forum of writers who aim to spread hope, positivity and love among people using the creative tools of expression.  Young Creatives is a writing program where creative people meet and collaborate to spark change with their extraordinary talent and alive passion. We are inviting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures to join our forum, together as one. People who are a keynote speaker, author, philosopher, traveller, artist, musician, poet, activist, entrepreneur, NGO head are encouraged to join and get featured in the list of 'Young Creatives 2021'. As a part of the program, you need to write an original essay on the creative theme of your choice: Philosophical, Spiritual, Political or others with words between 1000-1500 and submit that in the application form with your details as asked in the form.

The Rose | The Inked Perceptions

The rose stands there, 
On the vase, discarded. 
Days have gone by, you know, 
Since I last watered it. 

And yet-

It stands. 
Perched on the wooden table, 
Yet it awaits it's fulfilment. 
Oh! How foolish it is! 

To still 
Look on the nights for-
Another hand, 
Another heart, to grasp it's stem. 
To wait for another eye
To take in it's delicate petals, 
To smile upon it's 
Useless beauty! 

For I know that-

Neither the Sun's drops on it, 
Nor it's creamy glow
Can bring that forlorn lover back. 

And neither can I. 

And still it stands-
Against His yellow glance, 
On the silvered vase, 
Stands your Rose.

 I am a 16 year old student. My best friends have always been ink and paper. Jotting down my thoughts is my only gateway to a touch of freedom, it is the only way I voice my emotions because saying them out loud has never been my cup of tea. I love to read as well. I could curl into any book for hours on end. A good, hot cup of coffee added to that mix is just pure paradise to me. Thank you for sharing my pieces with your audience. I really hope they like it.
